Red Storm Spring/Summer Prep Program
The BBA’s Spring Prep Program is designed to help increase fundamental basketball skills through clinics and competitions. It lasts from April 8 until June 10 and runs as an elite program for those looking to get ready for ID Camps, college/university seasons, or to keep yourself up at such a level while upgrading grades to get onto an undergraduate team. Participants will be working with and among some of the top players from within the city and province. As part of this program, players will receive one workshop on pursuing a post-secondary education (includes: scholarships, career programs, entrance requirements, etc.)
The summer program runs for the month of July, and is made up of top performers from the spring program. Each team will have its own management personnel and tournament schedule. Club tuition fees for the summer program are $250 for high school graduates or upgrading students.
Fees are calculated based on the fact that the teams will have the opportunity to travel throughout Western Canada and the southwest United States while competing in their games and tournaments. More info will be provided to each player that makes a summer team.
Employment Program
The BBA Prep Employment Program helps students find spring/summer employment (that is also flexible to their basketball schedules). It is a partnership with local businesses. In addition, for those players taking part in the School and Upgrading Program, The BBA can help players find employment for the school year that minimizes the impact on their schooling and basketball. For more information, please see our Caring for the Community Page.
School and Upgrading Program
BBA is proud to introduce a preparatory basketball program for high school graduates between the ages of 17 and 21. The program is specifically designed to provide exposure to local and national colleges and universities during the "upgrading" transitional period between high school and post secondary education. Students who are upgrading will have their schedules accommodated accordingly while remaining conditioned to a college and university level of basketball. Games and tournaments will be organized between colleges and similar basketball programs to maintain the competitive aspects of a season and also to showcase skills to potential post secondary institutions. As part of this program, players will also receive workshops on pursuing a post-secondary education (includes: scholarships, career programs, entrance requirements, program presentations from Edmonton post-secondary insitutions, etc.)
We will be accepting applications until November, 15 2011 on a first come first serve basis, so apply soon!
