The Basketball Academy is dedicated to making a difference in the Edmonton community. Whether it is partnering with non-profit organizations, supporting aspiring athletes, or fostering youth leadership, The BBA wants to give back to the community, without which programs like ours could not exist.

SCHOOL REFERRAL PROGRAM
As a way of helping to support school programs, The BBA trades clinics for referrals! For every 5 successful referrals from a team coach, that team will receive a gift certificate for a full 2 hour clinic. Best of all, the team can choose when to have the clinic, so we will try to accommodate the team's schedule! Coming soon will be a referral form. A successful referral is defined as an actual registration in a camp, clinic or program accompanied by a filled referral form. Maybe there's a youth that just missed getting on a team. Maybe there's a youth looking for basketball outside of the school. Maybe there's a youth that needs a solid and consistent extra-curricular activity to help them continue developing positively. By working with the schools, we can help make sports accessible to even more youth!
SPONSOR-AN-ATHLETE
One of the obstacles to involvement in high performance sports is costs. Besides fundraisers that the youth can take part in to help raise money for travel and accommodation costs, we will encourage them to seek out sponsors. Money sponsored for a player will go directly to that player's expenses. We encourage local businesses to contribute, but families and friends can do it too!
Sponsorship comes in many forms; it does not just have to be monetary. Gift certificates are another form of sponsorship. Not only does the gift certificate go towards their programming, but 50% of each gift certificate goes directly to player sponsorship. If there's a particular athlete you want that 50% to go to, just let us know!
Another way to sponsor an athlete is to give them ways of earning their money. Maybe you have a sidewalk you want shoveled for the winter. Need a fence painted? Leaves raked? A lawn that needs mowing? Graffiti removed? No job is too big or too small, and you get to set the price! Not only are you helping to sponsor an athlete, but you're helping them learn what it means to EARN something that they want. Individuals or businesses, please contact us if you have a task for one of our athletes!
GIFT CERTIFICATES
Do you know someone who loves basketball? Or maybe someone who has never had the opportunity to play? A BBA Gift Certificate is the perfect gift. You can purchase a gift certificate in terms of monetary amounts, apparel, or as single 2-hour clinics. For our athletes, the gift certificates go a long ways to helping our programs be affordable. 50% of each gift certificate purchase amount will go into our athlete sponsorship fund. It's a gift that keeps on giving!
One of the fundraisers players will participate in is selling gift certificates. For every gift certificate a player sells, 50% will go towards that player's travel and accommodation expenses.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES
Was basketball something that deeply affected your life in a positive way? Was it something that changed your life? Here's a chance to do the same for another youth. We can help you set up an annual scholarship or bursary with our program. Maybe it's $50 or $500. Maybe it's a player's uniform. You set the criteria!
